Niacinamide reduces water loss and the drying effects of retinol by increasing the synthesis of ceramides and keratinocyte differentiation in the s.corneum (2000 Tanno). Retinol can double the thickness of the epidermis from 60 to 120 micron in 7 days (2017 Shao), and increase the amount of fibrous tissue in the hypodermis 2-5x after 8 weeks (2000 Franchimont). Both help even skin tone and prevent blemishes.
Night Anti-Aging & BlemishVitamin ABC Lotion
Triple stabilized 0.25% retinol & 3% niacinamide, natural forms of Vitamin A and B, form a biochemical crime-fighting duo, effectively targeting wrinkles, blemishes and uneven skin tone, giving you peachy, visibly younger-looking skin in 1 to 2 weeks. Niacinamide reduces the drying effects of retinol by stimulating lipid synthesis, keeping your skin smooth and firm. Keep in mind it's not fast acting nor suitable as a acne spot treatment with it's preventive action.

I really wanted to love this product. I have struggled with occasional mild hormonal acne for years. I followed the directions closely and for the first 2 weeks of use, my skin looked and felt better than it ever has! I was in love! Then I started getting a couple random breakouts. Thinking this was just a "retinol purge" I continued on with the recommended regimen. Flash forward almost 2 months later and my skin is awful. Like, deep, painful breakouts in places my face has never gotten breakouts before. Nothing else in my regimen or lifestyle has changed. My guess is the jojoba oil in this product is causing the breakouts. Most people aren't bothered by jojoba oil but I think my skin just can't handle it.
Ever since I gave birth to my youngest child I have struggled endlessly with hormonal acne. He’s almost 8 years old now, so that’s how long I’ve been battling horrible acne. And not just small pimples here and there. I’m talking huge boils covering my entire jaw line. Tiny bumps across my entire forehead, hairline and behind my ears. I started with the Benzoil and used that for several weeks (two bottles worth) and my acne seemed to actually be getting better. Then I incorporated Night into my routine. I’m about 3/4 in to my first bottle, and my skin has NEVER looked this good. I haven gone through two menstrual cycles now, and haven’t gotten a single pimple. I still get a few black heads here and there, but far fewer than before. I can’t tell you how relieved I am to have finally found a product that works!! Even my acne scars are starting to fade. Beyond happy!
Love this product- worth the money- my fine lines have disappeared
Custom Analytics, a FDA registered lab, verifies the retinol concentration of each batch of Night. Only pure retinol has been extensively studied at ~10 mg/week or 20 pumps of Night. Avoid encapsulated or retinol derivatives (we know palmitate is less effective) that will make dosing and efficacy guesswork.
